Customer for 3 years, new line activated. Can I put it on seasonal hold?

Old account, new line. 

Called in before I purchased phone - rep on phone told me it was 100% possible. (Was in-store when this rep said yes) Bought phone, called in after to put it on seasonal hold next rep said it wasn't possible. 

Now myself, and the store advisor are extremely frustrated as they're going to have to cancel this sale now, and I'm going to lose out on the promotion as the person who this phone is for won't be back for roughly 32 days. 

Any suggestions?

Officially, Koodo posted their policy here: https://www.koodomobile.com/help/keeping-your-account-open-when-travelling
That line must be active for 90days before putting on seasonal hold. However, you could get lucky if the Rep could help, but noone knows if he/she will.

I'm curious why you added a new line to purchase a phone even if the person won't be able to use it for more than a month.
If you wanted have an advantage of promo, then you could purchase it under your account, then add a new line once the person become available.

The promotion was for new activation's only, Which is the reason I called Koodo Customer Service before purchasing the phone.

In that case, I believe you need to be active for 90 days to benefit promo.

Which promo were you planning? wowmobile has some giftcard promo for new activations on Koodo iphone and other. You might want to check them out https://www.wowmobile.ca/en/apple-iphones/ It might worth the 32 days waiting with a giftcard and trade-in.
