Cross-border roaming

Just got a msg that my son's phone is roaming on a US network. (He's on the QC side of the Can/US border.) The msg tells me (the authorised account holder) that I can manage his settings and set permissions on the self-serve page. I can't see this option, though. Could anyone help me, please. (He has an iphone 6S.)

You can choose roaming options such as EasyRoam, etc from self-serve. You can’t control his phone. If your son is not entering the USA, advise him to enter his settings, go to Carrier, turn off Automatic selection of carrier, then select Koodo from the list which populates. This will keep his phone connected to Koodo, rather than connecting to a US carrier when near the border.

Hi there!

As far as I know, you will be able to set limits when it comes about Data... If you log into you Self Serve account, then go to usage (for the number you want to set parameters) then click on change data settings, then in this section you will be able to make changes when it comes about accepting extra charges...

If you dont want the phone to connect to a USA tower, you can also modify the phone settings to pick only Koodo's network... This will be under mobile network menu on your phone depending on the model...

Let us know.

This happens to everyone that is close to the border and "automatic" is set for mobile networks. This allows your phone to roam and connect to a US network. As David and Camilo said, set mobile networks to "manual" and then select Koodo. You will not receive roaming warnings anymore. If you ever do want to roam then set it back to automatic.

Thanks, everyone. I've passed on the info to my son, and will check my own phone, too.
