my Canadian credit card payment was denied.
Koodo said it was the issuer. Phoned issuer and they had not received a demand for payment and the card was good to go. Do I have to pay $5. to remedy Koodo's problem.
Error code was 301.

For the umpteenth time, there is no charge for calling in for assistance if Koodo's systems are not working. This is a public forum and nobody here can help with billing or payment issues.

Since you mentioned 5$ for service, I assume is for prepaid, if it is not, well, still same info apply... If the Credit Card is under your name and it is not a Prepaid Credit Card or a Debit Visa, it could still be registered into Koodo's system to allow payments coming from your Credit Card, as long as it does not have any restrictions coming from your Financial Institution....

Contact your credit card company as to why it was declined.

I contacted my credit card company and they stated that it was an issue on Koodo's side. After contacting Koodo Customer Service, I was informed by the representative that there was a glitch in Koodo's payment system that was preventing credit card payments from being verified. The rep stated that the issue was being addressed and that it would likely be fixed within 24 hours. I was told that if immediate service was an issue, I should buy a prepaid card at the store.

Strange......The credit card systems weren't down today. I think your credit card needs to be registered with Koodo. Are you a new customer?Have you used this card with Koodo before?Has it worked?

I think the problem is specifically on the prepaid side.

I'm relatively new with Koodo; however, I have used this credit card to automatically top up my prepaid account once before. I'm not sure if the issue is only related to prepaid members. I probably should have checked with the OP to see if he's a prepaid user before commenting.

I think Timo is correct I was unaware you're a prepaid customer. I would wait it out until the outage clears if that's the case. Because the time it takes for you to purchase a prepaid card and call it in tommorow or the next day the outage might be cleared. Also I heard of some prepaid cards having issues with taking payments so I would avoid opening this can of worms.
