I want to set up a SIM-only plan, using my own iPhone 5. I read that you need to "pass" a credit check to have it set up. What is considered passing a credit check?
I know most carriers do a credit check postpaid non-contract accounts, to see if you are required a spending limit/cap. Is that the same with Koodo? Or will they flat out deny you if you have bad or no credit?

There is a chance they will deny you if you have bad credit. The only way to know is to go and see. Here is a link to some more information

Koodo has a spending limit program.
But it's all depending on the results of your credit check. They might deny you or put you on the program. So you will need to go to a koodo shop to see if you are qualify for a postpaid plan.
