it could be because of your router connection range. This happens with me when there are alot of other people who are using it or when the router is starting to get hot and is trying to cool itself.

Also routers have a limit as to how many devices can connect to them at one time. It's possible you're at or close to your limit which is causing poorer reception for your devices (I ended up upgrading my router due to this).

Same here as far as replacing the router, also if your phone and router support it you should use the pushbutton setup method as it kind of 'pairs' the phone with your router.
