WPS or Wi-Fi Protected Setup is a feature normally found on wireless routers and some laptop computers and is used to connect a wireless device such as a tablet, phone or wireless printer, to a wireless router. Your phone may also display 'WPS available' in the list of available wireless networks on your device.

Note: this is mainly for Android, I'm not sure which device you have.

On your phone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi - depending on which device you have; either tap the menu softkey or the three little dots that appear in the upper right hand corner. You should see options to enter either a WPS PIN or to start WPS Push Button Setup, from that listing. A pin number is automatically generated when you select 'WPS PIN entry' from your phone.

I'm a little confused with the wording of your question. The WPS button on your laptop (if equipped) is designed to connect to a wireless router, which should also be equipped with a WPS button. Your phone will see that WPS is available because the wireless router is broadcasting WPS information, not your laptop.

Are you trying to access your wireless router with your phone using the WPS method instead?
