Just signed up for $25 Koodo service yesterday, decided I'm probably better off with the $35 plan, then I can receive calls during the daytime without cost... went on line to use self serve and noticed my account says 30 minutes left and 3 days until new billing period. What happened to my 200 minutes... I only made one call, it was after 7pm? Any help would be great!

That's because when you first sign all, your plan and it's features are prorated. So if you signed up and from the day you signed up had 5 days left in your billing cycle, you would only have 33 minutes because your minutes are prorated. 200 minutes / 30 days x 5 days = 33 minutes. Once your new billing cycle starts, you'll have your full 200 minutes.

Your first bill is pro-rated.

You activated yesterday (May 6th) and it says 3 days until your next bill (today), so that means the billing cycle is the 10th. Those 4 days of use (May 6th to May 10th) are added onto your first bill, which is the first full month. So your first bill will look funky in terms of price and how much you have available to use, but don't freak out - this is just how the cycles work.

You are not confused! :-) It's called proration. All phone companie do this. You first bill shows a partial month charge plus a full month in advance. The partial month is from the date of your activation until your preassigned billing period. I guess your is around the 10th of every month. So, for the partial month you don't get the whole 200 minutes. They divide the minutes into the month and multiply it by the number of days in your partial month. Since you only had about 6 or 7 days till your next billing period that's why the minute are only 30-40 in total too.

Watch this if I didn't make any sense:
