In a situation such as mine, why aren't you combining the tab points instead of showing them against my two accounts separately? I pay for them on one bill, shouldn't the be credited the same way? One tab is paying off one of my phones, but if you combined them, the final payment would happen much faster, giving me the chance to possibly trade up to a better/newer phone. I know there are other people out there who have more than one account with you that would enjoy the chance to do the same thing as what I've suggested.

I believed this idea was brought up before and wasn't planned.

And why wouldn't they be separate? Each line gets its own tab and as such, those tabs are separate. The account is completely different from a "line". Your account doesnt have a tab, your "lines" do.

But as long as I have one bill, then it should be very simple to combine the tabs onto the one bill as well. It is a very simple process to do.

A simple process that is not planned as mentioned above. Each line has its own tab for a reason. If the ability to combine tabs ever happened and one line upgraded, it would leave the other line having to wait longer to upgrade that line. Therefore, each line will kep its own tab to avoid situations such as this.
To you it may seem like a simple process but the programmers for the back end systems may think otherwise. Each line is taxed seperately as well.

I'm not sure if I follow this entirely. You want to combine positive tabs so one of you could get a newr phone quicker?

He means if he has 2 lines on his account his tab should go from -300 to +300 for the entire account, rather than -150 to +150 for each line.

Ok, I must be having a slow day. You can't simply convert negative to positive. If one line has -150 and the other +150 that doesn't equal to +300.

I think in his case, he bought his phones on two seperate occasions leaving the longer standing account positive and the newer account on a negative tab. He wants to "combine" them so that the "entire tab" would be closer to 0

IE: Tab 1= $147.00 Tab 2= -$40.00. If they were combined he would have $107.00 towards a new device for both accounts if both wanted to upgrade.

By that logic it makes perfect sense, as the tab is still going towards the same bill, just a different piece of hardware that isnt account specific.

I see. If he only was this clear, then yes, I would agree that there is some benefit although you are taking something away from the person that has higher positive tab. But if they can work it out yes it would probably make sense.

When I was paying off my $50 tab with $15 plan and $150 tab with $25 plan (10% tab contribution), I wanted this kind of ideas - combine and/or transferable tab between families.

But now you get 15% tab contribution from Koodo and 24 month wipe out, it is much easier to upgrade phone without combining tabs... I think

I don't see how combining Tabs would result in a faster pay down of the Tab amount. Every month, your Tab goes down by 15% of your monthly plan cost. If you have two Tabs at $100 each, or one Tab at $200, the net Tab amount would be the same regardless how you separate them.

For example, if you have a $40 plan on each line, each month your Tab goes down by $6 per month per line. With two Tabs, after 1 month that would be $94 per Tab (and would require 17 months to pay off). With one Tab, that would be $188 (and still require 17 months to pay off). How did you come to the conclusion that the one Tab is paid down faster than the two Tab?

Each line has it's own tab because each line is still billed and taxed separately due to the fact that there is no family plan. So, with that being said, each line's tab will be calculated based on each line's total before taxes. You do pay for it on one bill but as mentioned before, it is not planned. Therefore, combining tabs will not happen at this point in time. It sounds simple enough from a customer's point of view. I will repost something from a post above...

You may have a valid point here, so what they then should consider, is creating a family plan. That would solve the problem in this case. Now I wonder, do they actually read our comments? LOL!

They do, actually. A family plan has been suggested and I think they are considering it BUT the tabs would still be specific to the lines. Not a bundled tab. It would avoid disputes between users when one upgrades and leaves the others high n dry because there is no tab left to upgrade the other lines.

If by family plan, you mean minutes/data shared amongst the lines, don't expect it to happen. I haven't seen anything that would remotely resemble family calling. The most that Koodo has are unlimited minutes of calling between all lines on an account.
