it would be great if chat rooms ( romance, sports, leisure, etc ) are incorporated within the network, for both postpaid and prepaid sim card, if that is not the case presently. i come from another country and it is an automatic feature when you buy a sim card, on whichever network you choose. plus you get to keep your existing customers as it is a very popular feature.

I never heard of that... what country features provider supplied chatrooms, Nash?

I don't think Koodo would want these sort of chat rooms since the posts cannot be deleted and who knows the trash people will say. Very dangerous. I am the definition of internet troll and that would only encourage those like myself to post very rude and obscene remarks knowing they cannot get deleted. Maybe check out mIRC chat rooms for that sort of thing.

When I'm not here or moderating a Facebook group, I troll people lol. I won't lie. It's not in my character.

Hi Sophia I think you should broaden your horizon a little bit more. The world doesn't only consists of Canada and the US. There are so many countries within the African region which provide such services. As regards to remarks/comments the network provider has the ability to delete obscene or whatever rude comments they deemed fit

Seems like it might be an African thing, Nash.
I've traveled to every other continent in the last 10yrs & none of the others carriers I've do.
I've been to Africa as well, but about 20yrs ago so it was likely too early.

Extrapolating from the limited details you've provided, it sounds like it might be something the carriers in Africa came up with to assist their Users communicate with each other at a lower cost, similar to how in Asia (and other emerging markets) Data costs less than SMS so Apps such as BBM & WhatsApp are more popular & widely used than SMS.
In North America though the mentality & business models are different than Africa & other emerging markets.

As such, I don't think Koodo (or other North American carriers) will see the benefit to providing such a service.
Personally, I don't see the advantage to the User or carrier in North America. In emerging markets, sure, not here.

I didn't mean to be rude Sophia. Anyway too bad if your cultural horizon is limited

Just to enlighten you a little bit, I'm not North American whatsoever. But this community is not here as a fencing ground for you and I. I'm a volunteer to help people with questions about the Koodo program. Their core business is to provide cellular phone connection, not to provide chat rooms. However, if you'd be willing to finance the chat room facilities and all the necessary moderators, perhaps Koodo might be willing to listen to you. Have a nice day!

[...] it is an automatic feature when you buy a sim card [,...]

Wait, what? What did I just read? I'm deeply sorry, and don't want to hurt anyone's horizons, but the only thing that's automatic when you get a SIM card is putting it in your phone and using it while in a serviceable zone, nothing else.

If good service on a proven Canada-wide 3G cellular network is what you're after, Koodo can certainly provide that. For the rest, you're on your own pal.

I just noticed this topic and while this is a creative idea, there are so many alternatives that i don't think it's really needed to supply chatrooms it would just be a lot of hassle to get it set up. If you're looking to spend time chatting with random people over certain topics, head over to omegle lol. this is just my opinion, not trying to be rude. :)

Thank you Daniel. Appreciate your comment. Sensible. Not like certain people who according to them I have absolutely no idea what is the purpose of a sim card. Cheers

Btw David no need for chivalry. It was just an idea at the beginning and I'm glad people are reacting to that. But no need to jump in between like a small child looking for attention. I don't think Sophia is a damsel in distress. Well I hope not

Hey Nash, you're being rude. We're willing to discuss your idea as we are customers too but no one has been rude to you here initially, but you certainly have been to Sophia and Now David. If you can't be respectful of other people's opinions, don't post in public forums. I hope you're not this way in chat rooms.
