Changed my plan, lost my bonus data with no warning

I just changed my plan from a 1GB plan to a 3GB plan. However, when I did that, my 3GB 24-month bonus data (with 22 months remaining) was removed. There was no warning that I would lose add-ons when I upgraded my plan.

Is there any way to get this data back? Or did I just choose to pay more for less?

hi lacqui,
Normally the "bonus" data was attached to certain plans. When you changed it, you would lose it with the old plan.

You could contact Koodo directly and ask them about switching back to the old plan. They might be able to help you. I would suggest you send a message to their facebook to avoid the wait on phone.

You can try sending a private message to Koodo via Facebook Messenger or DM via Twitter asking to revert back because you didn't know that. But that's generally how it is with these bonuses and losing them when you change plans. You basically did choose to pay more for less. Hopefully they'll accommodate you.

Every plan change on self serve has a generic warning

Yup, generic warning that the PLAN might not be available to return to. Nothing about the bonus data, which was listed as an ADD-ON.

A technicality.  The 3gb bonus data was part of the plan.  Hence why its called Bonus.
It wouldnt make sense if everyone changed to get the bonus and then changed to another plan and kept that bonus
