Tap the menu (3 dots) in thr corner of the screen when you're in your messaging app and select settings, there should be the option there. Android is terrible for sending and receiving mms as the quality is terrible compared to IOS so if you had an iPhone prior you'll Not get the same files size / quality you did with the iPhone unfortunately.

From the menu/settings within the messaging app Paul mentioned, the option to look for is Advanced - then tap More. Select Advanced Messaging. From here you should see the option to send images in the following formats: Original, Best Available, Large (75%), Medium (50%) or Small (25%).

No Koodo can't lock them out. When in the settings of your messaging app do you see anything that says MMS or Multimedia settings?

The default Messaging app on LG does not support user settings on all models. Take a look at Textra on Google Play. It will allow automatic compression.
