There are a few things that could cause charging problems. Damaged ports, defective battery, defective charger/USB cable. A few tests may be required to check what's actually going on.
But have you tried turning off the LTE? LTE connection can cause major battery drainage. Also, in the settings of your phone there is a battery option, you can use that to check whats draining the battery overnight.
First, try a different charger. When using a USB wall adaptor, make sure you use one that meets your device specifications (you may damage your battery otherwise).
Or, you can use a computer USB port for charging (takes longer but is easier on battery). In any case a computer port is capable of charging your device overnight.
And finally, unless you have an active GPS navigation app running, there's nothing that should be discharging your phone while it's plugged in at night. At worst, there should be zero charge lost, even with other apps running.
