Cell tower location

Can I change cell tower,the one i use is further away and gives me a low signal at home. They have erected a new one only 2.5 km. away but it won' say locked on when i'm at home.

The tower that was recently built could not be active quite yet, or it could also be from another carrier, which would prevent you from being able to connect to it.

Unfortunately you cannot choose a tower to connect to.

The best option is to wait it out to see if the tower gets activated and when it does, to see if its for Koodo/Telus.

Your phone will default to the best signal, usually the closest tower for your carrier. you can see a map of cell towers at this link:

Can take several months before a tower is actually in service after completion.

Signal Finder by Akvelon will give you a local map showing which towers are operating.

New towers also don't show up on the ertyu.org site right away.

Makes for a little side discussion, because as Matthew Hill said, you can't manually choose which one to serve your connection.

I've never heard of Signal Finder or Ertyu.org! I'll definitely check them out, they sound useful!
