Carry the Blackberry Classic!

I can understand Koodo not carrying the Blackberry Passport since it's a niche device and also has a fairly high-end price. However, the Blackberry Classic coming out in December will have a mid-range price and is the perfect upgrade for anyone using an old Bold or Curve who loves the convenience of the keyboard and trackpad. For those who haven't paid attention in the last little while, Blackberry as a company is now stable and growing again and the BB10 operating system is very smooth, efficient and also runs Android apps.

I think customers would appreciate the chance to purchase this on the Tab, since the only Blackbery phone offered by Koodo right now is a pre-owned Blackberry Curve. Thanks for your consideration!

Last phone I bought from Koodo was a Z10. It is an amazing phone. Koodo isn't offering any other BlackBerry's as part of their line-up, that Z10 might be the last phone I get from Koodo.

Last phone I bought from Koodo was a pre-owned Z10. Great phone but I upgraded to z30 after 18 months of using the Z10. Z10 still worked great and BlackBerry continued OS developments the phone never felt old.

The BlackBerry Classic is going to sell well! It's priced right! If Koodo doesn't carry it they are losing out!! Keep asking and they will carry it! :)

I also hoped they would carry it. Not offering any phone with a full keyboard is going to turn people away. I have had a CDMA blackberry for years hoping that I could upgrade, but now they are turning off my network and not offering any similar phones. May have to go to another carrier if this is the case.

Ive already got a Classic on hold with a competitor and am wondering why I should stay loyal to Koodo if they're not going to support my preference to stick with Blackberry products.

You're free to go wherever you choose, but I'd advise against switching carriers just because they carry a particular phone. Personally, I do the math to see if it's worth it. I've purchased many phones elsewhere because it was cheaper (in the long run) than switching.

If the +1 votes at the top of this page truly reflected a serious demand for Blackberry, I would have hoped for much higher numbers. I added my vote as well, but it looks as though there just isn't enough demand to carry the Classic.

I fear you should probably start looking at other carriers Mary. I personally don't have high hopes for Koodo carrying the Classic, if the pricing was better maybe, but I don't see it being popular enough at the price ive seen it at.

$500 is an awesome price for a premium blackberry like that. $200 on Tab M would be a great deal

Great deal doesnt mean great seller. The best sellers are usually the ones that are $0 on Tab Medium. And using the promotions right now, you can get a Galaxy S4 for $0 with a $150 gift card, a Nexus 5 with the same deal, or (if Koodo had it) a Blackberry Classic for $200 on Tab Medium.

Your using phones that are at the end-of-life status and are about to be discontinued compared to a phone thats just been released. Yup, those "deals" are better. But they're old phones. I certainly don't want a N5 or S4 at this point and many don't.

That's like them releasing the N6 and it being $400 on Tab M. It's brand new just like the classic. Of course using those types of comparisons, a $0 N5 or S4 on a Tab M would be a "better deal".

Your argument to me is invalid.

What I was trying to say is that alot of people buy based on offers. And yes Im using end of life phones, because I can honestly say, those are probably making up the majority of sales right now. If you can explain to me how the Classic at $200 is going to take sales away from these end of life phones I will end my argument. The reality of the market is that the Blackberry Classic doesnt have the specs or software support that the other "end of life" phones do. Those End of life phones do a better job of what "most" customers out there want. And at the end of the day, I just dont think the Blackberry Classic is going to be a big seller. I would take last years Mercedes over this years Corolla.

I hope koodo reconsiders carrying the classic bb, my husband and I both like the bb products and would like to upgrade to the classic. I don't want to change cell phone providers just to get a phone either, so its frustrating.

I'm in the same boat. I have accumulated about + $100 on my tab and hope to replace my existing blackberry with a new Classic. Not sure how to handle this if koodo doesn't carry the classic.

It looks like the only way they will carry the BlackBerry Classic is if enough people ask for it. They don't think enough people want it. :(

I guess Koodo's goal for 2015 is to lose revenue and customers? Carry the Blackberry Classic or me and EVERYONE I know will go to another company with SHAREABLE data plans and never look back ;) This is getting RIDICULOUS Koodo...Hello Bell, I already have my residential services with you so why not mobility too?

Ivan, Mobile Master

  • 96,634 Points 50k badge 2x thumb
Because price? You can buy the Classic elsewhere ($500 for new, though BB has a crappy resale value so you can pick one up for a lot cheaper).

Comparing 500 MB plans of Koodo ($45, becomes $40.50 if you bring your own phone) and Bell ($70), you would pay $972 to Koodo over 24 months (though Koodo's plan offers 500 anytime minutes and unlimited E/W versus Bell's unlimited) or $1730 to Bell over 24 months (all prices before taxes).

Comparing 1 GB plans is a bit easier as both plans have identical features: Koodo would be $1296 and Bell would be $1850.

Or the fact that, based on the CCTS report, Bell makes up like a third of the complaints in the entire industry vs Koodo which made up a whopping 1.5%.

  • 146 Points 100 badge 2x thumb
Well you cant compare Bell vs Koodo complaints because look at how many people are with bell vs koodo. More people =more complaints. Also look at how much more you'd pay for Bell services vs Koodo if i was paying twice my bill I'd expect twoce the service .

Mark Kokolsky

  • 10,722 Points 10k badge 2x thumb
Then compare Bell vs Telus, Telus who has more subscribers than Bell, Bell makes up 32.2% of the complaints and Telus comes in at 5.75%.
