I've added the Caribbean ($40) plan which I'm hoping I'll be able to use while in Holguin Cuba next week. Do I need to keep data on during the time I'm away, or should I turn it off? I'm a bit confused. The feature I want to use most is the text messages. When I make a call to Canada (I have 50 minutes), am I charged for extra roaming? What if someone phones me from Canada?

Hi Isla, the $40 add-on includes 50Mb of data, so you will be able to keep data on during your trip. I suggest that you monitor your usage though as overage is charged $1/Mb. The feature includes 50 outgoing text messages and unlimited incoming messages. The 50 anytime minutes will cover both incoming calls (from Canada as well) and outgoing calls (local and to Canada). There is no extra roaming charge :) You'l find more info about this add-on here: Enjoy your trip!

If you see a good answer, give it a star.

Turn the data on only when you really want to use it. No point in having Facebook or some other program try to update while you are on limited expensive minutes.

Have a great vacation.
