MEID/ESN number is invalid

Want to update my profile with my new phone. When I go to the Mobile tab, and select Change Phone, it asks me to enter my MEID/ESN number. I enter it, but it says it is invalid. I also tried checking the Hexadecimal Number checkbox, but that didn't work either. I have a Nexus 5 (32GB) so I am reading the number off the box. The number is a 14 digit number. Any ideas?

Yip, you can only enter a sim ID there. It's only asking for imei/ send because older coma phones used then for activation purposes.

Oh ok thanks Chad. I guess I can go to a kiosk and have them enter the info in as they did that for my brother. I just thought I could do it online myself.

If both phones take a sim card, just move the sim from the old phone to the new one. No other swapping required.

Now I'm confused, are you trying to get your phone working or are you just trying to make it so it shows the correct phone in selfserve?

It doesn't matter if it shows the phone in self serve it won't do anything I've had a few unlocked phones I've brought over to Koodo and they never show, it just always shows my last Koodo phone I've had on the account. I've run unlocked phones for the last 2 years on Koodo with it never showing so really just don't worry about it IMO.

I just signed up with BYOP (bought a Nexus 5). Phone came after I signed up so I just wanted to show that I had a Nexus 5 when I looked at my profile. It's was just a cool thing to see instead of:

Phone: Unknown

OK thanks.

Okay, so now I understand. Unfortunately at the present time there is simply nothing anyone can do to make self serve show your n5 correctly, it currently only shows Koodo devices correctly and sometimes not even those. However please like this idea to get koodo to allow us to nickname our devices.
