Can't receive international call

Hi folks,

My partner is overseas in Australia. I'm able to send and receive texts from her, but when she tries to call me she gets the message "Your call couldn't be connected. Please check the number and try again."

We're sure we're using the right number. We can text back and forth on that number with no dramas.

She's able to make other international calls, I just can't receive them for some reason.

Any idea what could be causing it?

Yes. Both that and the shortened version with just the +1 at the start get the same failure message.

She's spoken to the Australian network and apparently there's no problem on that end. They're saying there's no issue with the Australian side of things.

Is there anything I need to do to ensure I can receive international calls? Do I have to enable a setting somewhere? Have a particular plan or add-on?

No, you should be able to receive international call from anywhere... Have you tried to get called from someone else in another country?

No extra charges! As long as you are in Canada you're good to receive incoming calls from anywhere.

Hi, I just discovered that when my boyfriend from France calls me (he has unlimited calls to North America) it uses my calling add-on... So the answer to your problem might be that you need to have calling credit! Which is insane btw.

The incoming minutes are still being charged in some entry-level plans, so that is properly why you need minutes in your account.
