Can't connect to Wi-fi

Repetetive cycle for about 2 weeks now  with my S5 Neo:
Phone disconnects from wi-fi during the night (doesn't matter if phone is charging or already fully charged so not plugged in). Wi-fi bars are @ max but details indicate "failed to connect to wi-fi" error.
Tried all of the suggestions available here via search and rebooting the modem works. However, at night the phone disconnects again and won't connect in the a.m. Says connecting, then later failure error again. No problem with other devices (Ipad and PC's and my wife's S5 Neo are all connected OK. Any further Ideas?

Do you have wifi adapt or wifi keep on during sleep off in the wifi setting of the phone that would make it disconnect from WiFi during sleep of the device. Check in advanced settings under your WiFi settings.

If you are comfortable going into your router's settings, reserve a spot with a fixed address for your phone on your client list rather than relying on the router arbitrarily assigning a place through DHCP.

Once you have done this, reboot the router, tell the phone to forget its current wifi connection and re-log in manually.

Even without the IP reservation, forgetting and re-creating the phone’s Wi-Fi connection may help.

A recent update to the phone’s software might also have caused this change. Has your phone been updated, but not your wife’s?

@Paul:
Thanks for the quick reply. To keep my description simple I left out this info. Out of habit, If I am not charging the phone then I turn wi-fi off @ bedtime. If charging then I leave it on. Either way the end result is the same. In the a.m. I am not connected and have to reset the modem to reconnect.

Will check out the other suggestions at the earliest opportunity. Additionally, I should note that once I am reconnected after modem reboot the phone will connect to other wi-fi's (my daughter's, the library's and my local pub and also reconnect to mine) even after turning wi-fi off when not needed. It appears sometime after midnight the pixies are out and in the morning I can't connect again.

Does the same issue happen when you are connected to another wifi connection?

Ex. if you leave your phone at your Daughter's place over night, does it have issues connecting to wifi in the morning?

@Dennis:
There are currently no circumstances where I could test your suggestion. Truth is I only need wi-fi on the phone for several games I play. Some games you must be connected to play and others connected to receive daily credits and awards. I'm retired so typically I would use the internet via one of my other devices (mainly my Laptop).

I play similar games.

Give the suggestions above a try and let us know the result of them

UPDATE: Thanks to all again for your suggestions. Have not had the opportunity to test other suggestions for a fix as Monday and Tuesday nights I did not have a problem. I have bookmarked this thread so that I can test suggestions if it happens again.
