Can't access imessage

I recently could not access my imessage. I've been on airplane mode for almost a month now because I'm overseas. But this is the first time that I cannot use my imessage. It says "waiting for activation" on settings. Can someone from koodo help me out too?

How are you using your phone overseas? Just over wi-fi or did you get a SIM card from a local phone company? IMessage requires data, which you would get through wi-fi. If the connection to the modem isn't strong enough though your phone would be looking for a network connection. This may cause that message you are seeing. Make sure the wi-fi connection is good and you should be ok.

Hi RudyW! Thanks for the reply. I'm just using it over wi-fi. I have restored use of iMessage BUT through my email address as an alternative account. My concern now is... why am I not reachable through my Koodo number. My friends still won't be able to reach me unless I text them first using the alternative account. I'm wondering if Koodo deactivated my number (i'm a monthly subscriber tho), because it looks that way from my end.

If you registered your imessage account to both your email and phone number then it should go through according to my understanding.

Why dont you imessage someone and tell them to imessage your phone number to test it out?
I just tested this with my friend. I turned on airplane more and imessaged her and it works

If you paid your bills then Koodo would not have deactivated your account. You can logon to self serve to see if they did or not.
