Hey

My friend got a new phone and her iPhone was on a Koodo plan
She gave it to me with the simcard but no plan
I am able to get into the phone, sync it through iTunes and such

My issue is that I cannot use some features.
1)Date and Time completely screwed up
2)No iTunes or App Store access
3)I cannot go on websites

I want to know if there is a way that I can get these features back and use it as a "Wifi-Only" iPhone. Like an iPod Touch.

Hi Brandon,

Remove the SIM card from the phone, and make sure your connected to a wireless network and you should be able to use just fine.

I removed the SIM card and got this pop-up:
"No SIM Card Installed"
Insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone

How do I go about doing that?

Get the pin from your "friend" or I wonder if another no pin lock sim card will work

You need a Koodo or a Telus SIM card in order to activate the iPhone. The card does not have to be active.

I'm not too sure what to do here...I see your guys' comments and such but wouldn't it be easiest to give my friend the $35 dollars for her to take it to Koodo and get it unlocked?

As Melissa pointed out below, this isn't necessary. But if you'd prefer to do this, your friend wouldn't need to take in the phone for iPhone unlocking as this is done by calling customer service.

Hey Brandon! The device does not need to be unlocked for it to be used as an "iPod" and it will make no difference. You need a Koodo/Telus SIM card (active or inactive) to complete the set up of the iPhone.  It should take approximately 15 minutes and you can then remove the SIM.  Hope this helps :)
