Cannot receive calls

My samsung A5 is six months old and was working perfectly yesterday. I awoke today with no received calls then was informed by my gf and mother that they cannot call me; when they dial my number my phone does not ring or notify me of an incoming call and regardless if they call me from a landline or cell phone their phone quickly hangs up. I can still make outgoing calls and send / receive texts.

This is a long shot because you don't mention if callers are able to leave a voicemail or not but maybe your phone is in 'do not disturb' mode. If that isn't the problem try restarting your phone and maybe that will fix things.

Have you tried restarting your phone? Cures a lot of ills.

A restart should resolve the issue. If the problem persists, try resetting the phones' settings. This function resets the phones' settings to factory default values. This is not a factory reset. Everything will remain intact on your phone. Go to: Settings > General management - tap Reset. Tap Reset settings and read the disclaimer. Tap Reset Settings to reset the device settings to default.

In the same Reset window, you may want try resetting network settings. Ordinarily, a restart refreshes the connection to the network, but worth a shot if the problem persists. A last resort is a factory reset which wipes all user content. Keep us posted.
