Cancelled Cell Phone

I cancelled my prepaid cell phone in store AND made sure the final bill was completely paid in February. Apparently they have no notes from when I went into the kiosk to cancel it.  I moved away from Canada mid February, now after 4 months I just got an email (first email) saying I have $299 outstanding. Can somebody direct me how to solve this problem. I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR A CELL PHONE THAT I CANCELLED 4 MONTHS AGO. How do I go about settling the balance.

Are you sure your plan was a prepaid? because it seemed you were on a postpaid plan.

Prepaid service is simple, you would just need to remove your automatic topup. It would be canceled.

Which store did you go to? Cancelling a postpaid plan would require you to call in. The store cannot cancel or take note on you behalf. If you want to dispute, you would have to contact them directly (call/send message to their facebook). Are you in Canada? or you are traveling right now?
