Bonus Data Cancelled When I Switched Plans!!!

So I received a text message from Koodo which offered free 1 GB of data for 6 months. My last bill listed this expiring Dec 30 2016. I switched from current plan of $45 for 1 GB to the new promo of 2 GB for $50 a month. My thinking was that this would now give me 3 GB of data until the end of the year and then 2 GB continuing on as I would like to keep at least this amount of data. As soon as I switched plans my bonus 1 GB Data offer was voided. Also I only have amount remaining on my 1 GB plan for this month and have to wait until next month for the new 2 gb plan to kick in. So essentially I'm now paying more for the same service I was receiving and am screwed over for data this month.

Will definitely be switching carriers if this is not resolved. Has anyone else experience this?
