cancelled acct ported out ; charges for not used days

hi iam new to koodo i need help understanding ported my line and that cancelled the account now got the final bill it has the tab balance plus the days i didnot use the service like i ported out on march 12 and the bill is up untill march 17 .? is thats the way its always like that ? as i thought i will only be billed for the days i kept the service.
also after loggin in self serve i notice the port out date system showing is 17th march but i have the confirmation email of port out done on 12th ..can someone explain pls.

Have you called in to cancel your service after the porting?
I've seen posts said that if you just ported out your number, they will set your cancellation date on the last day of your billing cycle.

Another cash grab apparently. "Final" bill used to be pro-rata, but now I guess they are figuring many people won't spend hours on the phone chasing down small amounts.

no i havent called after i ported out i thought it will automatically settle but the final bill showing the extra charge even though there was no service from kooodo on those days

Just got my bill same thing happened to me spoke with Carlos he made the proper adjustment ;)
