I just decided to pay off my Tab. I was wondering if there was any way to get my phone paid off and out of Koodo services today or tomorrow instead of waiting for a month until the plan is finished? I pay $45 a month I think and if I wanted to not pay a months worth would this $45 be shortened to however many days I use my phone until I pay off my bill? I know other places can cancel their plans and just pay the remaining total of their tab and the days they used the phone service and they are done and usually what they pay is cheaper than what they paid each month depending on their tab balance.

Yes, you can. You will need to contact Koodo to send you a cheque for any overpayment you may have on your account.

@paula: you could call Koodo 611 (if you don't have service with them then 1 (866) 995-6636). If you don't want to wait on the phone, you could contact them through their facebook (send message).

To cancel you must call Koodo.

If you are not porting, you need to inform Koodo by phone that you are not porting and that you want to cancel as of that day and not at the end of the month.

You will still be able to login to self serve after canceling, so please make sure you pay attention to your bills to ensure any overages or outstanding amounts are paid.

If you want to port out your number to another provider, keep your Koodo account active and deal with the new supplier exclusively. Porting the number will automatically close your Koodo account. You will pay any tab balance and any pro-rated amount for services in the month up to cancellation.

If you are indeed owed a credit, you will have to chase Koodo for a refund cheque afterwards.

I think Koodo automatically bills to the end of the month from what I have read on the community the last few months.  If you want them to cancel based on the port out date, you need to call them to let them know that is what you want to do

Just a note:
In this case, if your $45 plan don't included unlimited minutes, then your minutes will be prorated too, and could cause minutes overage.
