Cancel my data roaming charges

I travelled to Mexico recently and didnt turn off data. I got a notification that i used $75 worth of data..i had no clue i would be charged that..i immediately turned off data. Is there anyway someone could cancel that unnecessary charge? Please?

No guarantee as it was your mistake but you can try messaging Koodo via Facebook or Twitter or call and ask them if they can do something for you.

I dont get how you figure it was an unnecessary charge. You knew your data was on and only turned it off after you realised how much using it was costing you. What did you think you would be charged? When you call them I think your only hope is asking for the easy roam rates of $10 a day which may or may not end up cheaper for you depending on how many days you used it.

@ Joanne, we sent you a notification when you were only at $25 over.  And another one at $50 as well.  You have a fairly big bucket of data in your plan. You could now use your phone anywhere in the world as you would at home as long as you add Easy Roam. It's free to add and you only pay for the days you actually use it:

I'll check again but I swear I received the $75 message only. I was caught up in the excitement of landing in a new country and didn't realize I had my data on. But I did quickly look up my taxi drivers address online. And the airport internet kept cutting in and out.. So it must have jumped to my data instead.

For future reference, check you phone's data settings. Many phones have the option to use cellular data if the WiFi signal is weak, even if it is on. Remember to disable this option to avoid unexpected charges and/or overages.

Koodo doesn’t have to do anything for you in this circumstance. Maybe they will give you $20 off if you ask nicely. Lesson learned
