Can you switch from a pre paid plan to a monthly billing plan, I have a koodo phone and would like to keep it. How do I switch?

Well that's fairly simple... what you'll need to do is get a postpaid SIM activated on a monthly plan from a Koodo shop or supporting retailer. I'm actually not sure if pre to post paid migrations are possible (like what Telus does) or if you just create a new account all together. I'll get back to you on that.

Keep in mind that you will need 2 pieces of government ID for an activation, one of them MUST be photo ID, and one of them must be of the following for a credit assessment:

- Current address, non-expired, and in-province driver's license, Canadian credit card, or your SIN card (only required if you don't have 1 of the other 2 things).

The other supplementary IDs accepted are...

Passport (good for photo and DOB)
Citizenship card (good for photo and DOB)
Indian status card (good for photo and DOB)
Birth certificate (good for DOB but there's no photo)

If any of the IDs you provide do not have your current address on it then you must provide something else that does (bank statement, rental/lease agreement, etc) - this is why your DL is the easiest ID to use.

Ontario Health cards are not accepted.

To expand more on what Jonathan has said. If you come to a Koodo kiosk, we strictly want:

*The first I.D. must be a valid photo I.D. Which includes: Drivers Licence, Provincial Identification Card, Department of Defense Identification, Native Indian Status Card, Valid Passport, CNIB Card, Valid Work Visa, or a Permanent Residents Card.

*The second I.D. must be a Social Insurance Card or a Credit Card.

*This are the requirements to do an activation with a Koodo corporate store. If you don't have a credit card and lost your SIN card but remember the number. You must still provide a T4 or tax return statement to support it.

*Health cards are no longer accepted to support your SIN card number.

**IMPORTANT: we dont accept DOB certificate** if you come to a Koodo corporate store.

In terms to switching from a Koodo prepaid to Koodo postpaid. It is possible, just bring your phone because they have to scan your IMEI and its good to go. They would have to issue you a brand new SIM card that will be $10. Plus you get 10% off your monthly bill if you plan on using the same koodo phone.

can anybody tell me ifi will lose my balance for my prepaid or can i get it transferred towards the tab

Yup. As of right now there are no migration options to keep any boosters balance when moving over so it might be something to look into...
Don't really care about booster loss just want to know about the 18$ish credit I have

That's what I meant, any balance/credit is lost if you switch, Koodo or not.
I wonder why that is though it doesn't offer any encouragement for somebody like me to switch to monthly they would be making more money off me less 18$ still a profit for them
