I'm a student that only has a visa debit card and as far as I know I have no credit bad or good what so ever. I have a SIN card but no drivers license. I am also 18. I also plan on getting only a small tab.

With no credit history at all you'll generally qualify for a negative tab with a $200 spending limit on your account. It's impossible to know until they do the credit check though.

It's possible you might be able to get one on the spending limit program, but you will need some form of government photo ID if you don't have a drivers license. With no ID at all prepaid is your only option.

Thanks Jordan. :) Just asking but does your Ontario health card count as I.d? :/

Likely not (although I'm in Alberta so I have no idea for sure). Places that give drivers licenses can get you a provincial ID. It works the same as far as any place that needs to check your ID, just doesn't permit you to drive a car. Might be worth it to look into getting one of those regardless as it never hurts to have photo ID.

Photo health cards are not an acceptable form of ID. This is more due to government regulations on health cards thatn anything else. I suspect it's because the government loses money if someone steals your health card information.

Except in BC now where health cards and DL cards have been amalgamated. Same card now..
