Can I upgrade to a different phone through Koodo?

I have a Blackberry 9300 which I've had for almost 2 years. The ball in the phone works off and on and so it is frustrating to use. I am ready to upgrade. I checked and I have $43 left on my tab. How do I upgrade to a different phone through Koodo? I am very interested in the Blackberry Q5.

You could purchase it on the tab small (the tab you have been using). Since you have $43 dollars left, you then have $107 you can put towards the purchase of a new phone (the Q5 would then cost $350-$107=$243 plus tax).

If you move up to a tab medium (which requires a minimum $30/month plan before add ons and taxes), then you could knock of another $150 off the price and get it down to $93, but you would have to contribute $5/month extra on top of your monthly bill for this extra benefit. However, keep in mind that the new tab system clears to $0 automatically after 2 years, even if you have a remaining balance on it,

Thanks so much for the info! It does sound worth it to move up to the $30 plan. I bought my phone at walmart a few years ago, would I be able to get everything switched over at walmart again, or would I have to go to an actual Koodo centre? I only ask since the closest Koodo store is about 2 hours away from where I live.

If they are a Koodo retailer and do activations, they should be able to (make sure to call ahead however. I once went to a retail partner location where they were supposed to be able to do things like this, but the employees on hand didn't actually know what they were doing).

You could also check here for retail locations close to you: http://koodomobile.com/en/on/storeloc... There are many different retailers that Koodo partners with so you might find one closer than you think (wherever you go, when calling ahead, make sure you also ensure they have the Q5 in stock so you don't waste your time).

If you do move up to a $30 plan, there is only one option at the moment, make sure you look at it closely and compare it to your current plan, because once you move up, you can't go back: https://shop.koodomobile.com/plans/pl...

Keep in mind that the $30 talk and text plan includes pay-per-use data. I don't know if the plan you currently have included this. Make sure you understand how PPU data works so you don't accidentally add unintended data costs to your bill.

Just to be clear, if you move up to the $30 and take the medium tab instead of the small tab, your monthly bill would then be $35, including the $5 medium tab fee, before add ons, taxes and any pay per use data charges.
