Moving to an other city, with long distance fee from present city. I would like to keep my number but make it local with the new city i am moving to.

When I requested this from Fido years back, they stated that it was impossible so I'm inclined to say no. I could be wrong.

That is not possible. You will have to change your phone number to a local number in that city.

As Ahmad said, this is not possible... Numbers are assigned to specific regions, so when you change regions, but you keep the same number, it will still remain attached to its specific area...

If you have a Canada Wide plan, you wont be charged long distance as long as you are within your minutes, but people calling you most likely will pay LD charges if they do not have a Canada wide plan.

The wireless companies are leading the way with Canada wide calling. You would think that the CRTC would eliminate Canada long distance charges and just have Canada wide calling for all voice calls in Canada (landline or otherwise)
