I'm going abroad and the hotel I've chosen offers broadband in the room, but NOT wireless. I want to keep surfing, accessing email, etc. Is there a way I can connect with my iPhone 4 without roaming? Is there a gadget I can use? Thanks!

Just take out your SIM Card and connect to the wifi in the hotel then there's no chance of getting charged for anything on Koodo's end.

Hey Anne-Marie!

I personnally use this when travelling and access to only an Ethernet (wired) jack:

It's like any router you use at home to share your broadband Internet throughout your home, but in a much smaller package! You can then connect your iPhone wirelessly to your portable router, which itself uses the hotel's wired connection to let you use the Internet!

Of course, since it doesn't involve any kind of cellular connection, there is no possibility of roaming charges.

Hope it helps!

Oh well! Marcel's device is even better as it combines 3G router + WiFi router! I thought it was a 3G hotspot only! Kudos to Marcel for this gem! :)
