Hi Jessica,

You would be trading it in for a monetary value and then you could apply that amount towards the iPhone 6S plus. However, you would receive a lot more money selling it yourself on a site like kijiji  or ebay.

If I do go in and trade it will they only take off 200$ for the iPhone even if the s7 is a newer phone?

Jessica you wouldn't probably even get $200. If your talking about the $200 offer dealing with the Galaxy S7 it's trading any phone in towards buying a Galaxy S7 not you get $200 for the s7 towards other phones. No matter what phone you have you will always be better off selling it privately like Mathieu said, you will get two, three, four times what you'd get trading it in.

The only way you'll get top dollar for your phone is if you sell it within the first few weeks of its release. The S7 has been out since March 2016. As months go by, phones depreciate in value. If you don't mind putting up with low-ball offers and you have some flexibility in pricing, Kijiji might be the way to go. Before you post an ad, take a look around at what others are offering for the same phone. If you can get your S7 carrier unlocked, you'll attract more buyers as the phone can be used on other networks.

Another option on Kijiji is to offer to trade your S7 for an iPhone 6s.
