A couple of months back I opted to increase my data limit from 500mb to 1gb for an additional $10/mo. My question is if its possible to revert to my old 500mb plan and reduce my monthly bill by the $10.

Yes u can, go into self serve, and look for add-ons. It should be as simple as removing it.

That option in the self serve app displays an error whenever I attempt to open it. Can I do this on their website somewhere?

@Dustin, yo can definitely drop the add-on, if you no longer need it. That said your last few bills data usage was higher than what's included in your plan. Also, you may want to consider switching plans as our current promos would give you 2gb of data on a $50 plan. Basically for not a penny more you would secure 2gb as long as yo stay on that plan.

Do I have to pay out my current plan before switching or can I switch when I still have about a year to go?

You can switch plans whenever you want, but your bill might get pro-rated. If you want to avoid it, switch plans at the end of a billing cycle

Here's everything you need to know about pro-ration. Take a look at this video hoping it will make you understand. The principle is the same.
