I have a data block on my phone (intentionally) so I don't have to worry about using data but can still receive picture messages from my wife. I noticed something about BBM apn access on my account info last night. So does this mean I can also still use bbm for free even with my data block on my account ?? Because I have my data block on my account and when I opened bbm it seems to be working and asked me to log in. But I don't want to use it if I'm going to be charged for it.

It would matter if you had an older model Blackberry.

so for an Android You can use BBM thru your wifi connection, no need for Data.

I realize that. But there's no WiFi at my work (where I want to use it) I was just wondering what it means by BlackBerry apn access on my account when I have no data. My data is blocked. Which means it can't physically work even if I try to use it. But when I open the bbm app on my phone its asking me to log in. So its like its working, even though I don't have data. So I thought maybe even though I don't have data I can still use bbm to chat ?

Did you have a Blackberry before?
I am pretty sure the Blackberry APN is only for the old Blackberry's so they could access Blackberry Internet service.  You don't need it for android device.

If you try to login to BBM when not on wifi it will be blocked as it is different then picture messaging (MMS)

If you had a BBOS device on this plan originally and did not change the plan, the BB APN access remains. BBM could ask you to login anywhere you are without data access. It won't (shouldn't) work if you try to.

The BlackBerry APN Access is so that if you ever switch to a BBOS7 device, you will be able to access data on the device if you were to ever use data. Having your data block doesn't effect anything or change anything. It's a free add-on and there's nothing more to it. It doesn't do anything or effect your service. You can move on and never think twice about it.

P.s. in reply to one of your comments... The BBM app on your Moto X play has nothing to do with anything included in your plan. The app is something you downloaded, it's not pre-installed. You need to login to use the app so of course the first thing it's going to show is a login page. If I download bbm on my phone right now and open it, first thing it will ask me to do is login.
