SIM is your gatekeeper, like a credit card with a PIN number.

You need your own furnished by the provider you wish to use. And the phone will have to be unlocked by his ex-cell company if he has not already done so.

No you can't use it for your account. 1 account = 1 SIM card as Bob mentionned

Robert, can't Angela do a transfer of ownership? Would a transfer of ownership still need for her to get her own SIM?

It is a prepaid account, so she doesn't need to do a transfer of ownership.

She can use her friend's prepaid sim card If Angela's friend gave up his prepaid account. ( She mentioned she has permission to use it/phone number). Angela need to top up its account her self.
Or she can get a new prepaid sim card ($20) to start a new account/number.
