I believe Koodo holds the number for 90 days or so. Is it possible to port out that number to a different carrier during that period? What is Koodo's policy?

They hold the numbers for 90 days before releasing them back to their original carrier to be re-used. However, they can't give you the number especially if you're looking at taking it somewhere else. The number is pretty much gone.

Once the line is disconnected, consider the phone number gone

Thanks.

But I believe they can give me the old number back so perhaps I can re-activate and then transfer out.

You can try calling to see if they can reactive your account. In order for a port to happen with any company your line must still be active.
