Can I just buy the iPhone 4S at the $300 Retail price and then buy a Prepaid Koodo SIM card to activate it on? If not - what does the $300 Retail actually mean?

Unfortunately only Koodo only sells non-prepaid phones to customers who are on monthly plans or signing up for a monthly plan.

The retail prices means the full non-tab price for a monthly subscriber.

My recommendation is to buy it diect from Apple (this way it comes unlocked.

Or sign up for a monthly plan and get the phone, then cancel or port to prepaid

Hi Oliver,

I don't believe that Apple carries the 4s anymore. The entry level iPhone would be the 5c (8gigs) which retails for $469.

If you are open to buying pre-owned, you should also check out Kijiji as you'll likely be able to get a pre-owned iPhone 5s for around the same price as a new 5c.
