I already own a phone but would like to add a line to my plan for my daughter. Is this possible and what is the cost?

Hey Brenda,

It is possible to add another line to your existing account. The second line will have its own rate plan. However, both lines in the same account will have unlimited family calling, which means you and the other line can call each other, anytime of the day, without using any minutes in your plan.

No, unlike landlines, it's not possible to add a subscriber line (user/phone number) on Koodo to be billed as an "add-on".

The closest to that would be shared plans with Rogers/Bell/TELUS, but even then, each subscriber line would have its own agreement (whether BYOD or a device plan).

You could achieve something like this by using apps for talk & text, but a sim card with a rate plan cannot in itself be an add-on.

Since you're adding a line for your daughter, don't forget the refer a friend promotion. Send her an invite to her email address. Once she has a Koodo number, she can follow the link in the email and enter it, and you both get the refer a friend credits.

Depending on the age and trustworthiness of your daughter, I may recommend prepaid since you cannot incur overage on prepaid.

With postpaid, data will stop at the limit, but your daughter will only need to reply to the text to continue with data and incur overage
