Hi I'm a new international student in saskatoon. Today I went to a koodo service in midtown plaza. I want to sign a contract with koodo for monthly plan but the staff here said that temporary residence like international student cannot sign this contract even if they have SIN number, they can only use prepaid service. Is that true? Because my friend is an international student too but he still can sign the contract with koodo. I really confuse about this.

It depends on several factors, like your time of stay etc. Did they flat out refuse you even if you presented two pieces of ID?

She refused me immediately after I told her that I am just a temporary residence. I asked her again would it work if I had a SIN number. She still said no. She said that it's her company new policy.

Hello Fubuki,

I had a friend who tried, but it didn't work because he had no valid CC from Canada.

Thank you. I think I will change to using Sasktel then. They still do it for international student.

They said the same for my husband who is a phd student here in QC. I was wondering if I will be subject to same policy with open work permit.
