I have 100 minutes on my plan (it says I've only used 1). I am trying to call, and as soon as I dial the number and press talk, the call ends. What is happening and how can I fix it?

Hmm... maybe it's a phone issue.
How are your texts?
Try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Note: Once you reset the network settings you will lose your saved WiFi network and passwords so you will need to reestablish a connection to your WiFi at home.

Texts are perfectly fine. I shut it down and restarted the phone and it's working fine now.

This occasionally happens with iPhone 4 or 4S. Usually it's fixed by turning the phone off and removing the SIM for ten seconds, then re-inserting the SIM before turning the phone back on.

To remove the SIM on an iPhone there's a tiny, circular hole on the right-hand side of the phone where you can push a thin object. The iPhone should've come with a tool specifically for this purpose, but anything thin enough will do. Apple themselves suggest a paperclip.
