Is there an add-on to have Call Display for the Home Phone service?

According to the website, call ( number) display is already included. Note that cellular-based call display does not include names in the display. On a cellphone the name is drawn from your contacts list, which does not happen with traditional home phone devices.

Jay, what model of handset are you using?

Motorola model L804. Hopefully I am missing something painfully obvious - I'll take a little embarrassment to have proper caller id.

I'm going to guess that my Motorola that feels like a cheap giveaway from Airmiles is not up to the task.  I'm also guessing that the fine print of Caller ID vs Call Display would also lend a few details.  Thanks for your input everyone.

I recently signed up for Koodo home phone and I am to be getting call display with my package. It does not seem so, when I call out, my number is the only thing showing up, not my name and incoming calls are not displaying any names of who is calling. What is going on?

That's normal. With both incoming and outgoing calls only the number is transmitted. If that number is stored in the contacts on the receiving phone, the name will be displayed as well.

With the Koodo Home Phone adapter, AFAIK, there is no way to load software or utilise LTE/WiFi data to generate a name display. On a smartphone, you could use TrueDialer or Google's native dialer for Google Play edition phones, Nexus and Pixel phones (which use data to fetch information online about the phone number, finds the business or individual associated with the number and displays their name and maybe even a photo).

For a cellular name display, in Canada only Rogers/Fido offers that. Telus/Koodo and Bell/Virgin just won't do it. I don't know if Fido offers it for their home phone service.

If you have access to fast and reliable home internet, VOIP would be a more cost-effective and feature-rich option for home phone than Koodo's home phone.
