Buying/ using a data Phone, without a data plan?

Hi, I was interested in buying the Nokia Lumia 610 certified pre-owned phone. I realize this is an android phone with the specs available for data usage, but I only have a basic plan without data, and would like to keep it this way. Can I purchase and use the phone without purchasing a data plan? And also, do most Koodo retail booths sell certified-pre owned phones in store? Thank you!

Of course you can, Kyle! You can use any of the smart phones without a data plan... make sure the phone works with Koodo though, is it unlocked?
What plan are you on, if I may ask?

I'm on the Talk & Text plan and I up graded my phone to an android phone recently. I asked Koodo to add "Data block" because I didn't want to get charged by accident. (I don't use MMS)
The stock of the certified-pre owned phones are all dependent on the location.
So call nearby Koodo shop and ask them what kind of pre owned phones they have.
You may find the Nokia Lumia 610 :P
My android phone is " pre owned phones"

Thanks Sophia! I'm currently on the "Canada-Wide Talk + Text 25 Dbl", I'm in University and enjoy the low rates, and don't have a urge to go on facebook or internet other than while I'm at home, so see data plans as useless.

And Geoff, thank you for correcting my mistake, I know very little of the differences between android, smart and windows phones! Cheers!

Thanks for responding, Kyle! As Mayumi suggested, you may definitely consider calling Koodo to request a data block, because even unwanted data can add up quickly!
All Koodo plans come with flex data, starting from $5 up to 25MB and up and I can absolutely guarantee that you'll accidentally use at least something which in your case is a waste of 5 bucks - or worse :D

Kyle,

Windows or Android, at $75 with 1 year warranty...that's a pretty good deal.

No matter your choice I would look at the phone and it's manufacture End of Life date for upgrades before buying.
