I broke my iphone 5S 4months into my 2 year contract. I still have >350$ on my tab. Is it possible to put another phone on top of my old tab and pay an increased amount each month (atleast for the first few months) - I know some other companies do things similar to this idea which is why i am asking - If not, is it true that the only option I have is to pay off my entire tab before getting a new phone?

Yeah, you need to pay off the entire amount first. Sorry.

However, your other option is to buy a phone outright from a different source. As long as it's unlocked and supports HSPA bands 850/1900 it will work with Koodo. Your Tab will stay the way it is and continue as if nothing happened.

Put up with something a little less elaborate from an outside source and in 20 months or sooner you don't owe nada.

OR

Look into repairing your existing 5S if feasible. Lots of repair sites on Kijiji. About $100 for typical repairs (broken screen).

Last I checked, any iPhone under warranty is eligible for a swap if it's physically damaged, providing that the customer pays $270+tax at the store. Better than hunting down a new phone.

I've done this with an iPhone 5S that I dropped in water.

He could probably get it repaired for cheaper elsewhere, but this wouldn't void his warranty. His call.
