I am a US citizen but moving to Edmonton for College and to play basketball.
I wanted to ask could I bring a iPhone 5, 5s, or 5c to Koodo and get a plan?
Could I bring ANY iPhone 5, 5s, or 5c? No specific Model # like Winds, or Specific previous carrier?

And If I have to buy a iphone and plan with Koodo, will the phone really be $250-350 by itself?
Need to know answer real soon as I move there this sunday (24th)

Yes, assuming it's unlocked and supports the proper frequencies. If you got it in the U.S and/or from an Apple store, you should be fine unless it's one of those oddball Verizon GSM/HSPA hybrids because I'm not sure how those ones get unlocked.

If you have to buy an iPhone/plan with Koodo, yes the price really is that much upfront, but you can take cheaper plans. I know the U.S plans are probably a bit better than ours.

Yes you can bring your own iPhone to use on Koodo. However make sure it is unlocked first as Koodo cannot unlock it for you and usually it costs over $100 to unlock via third party online.

Koodo uses
3G HSPA+ 850/1900
4G LTE 1700/2100

For the 5C and 5S, either the GSM or CDMA model will work on 3G which is Koodo's main network. The 5 requires the GSM model only.
Always avoid the China models.

You can buy an iPhone via Koodo on a Tab.

Tab Small means you get a $150 subsidy
Tab Medium mean you get a $300 subsidy but there is currently a sale on Tab medium where you get $75 off when you get it on tab medium.
Note that a tab medium will include a $5 monthly tab charge
Note that Tab medium is the best bang for your buck.

Tab large means a $500 subsidy and you have a $10 monthly tab charge plus you have to get a tab large plan (this is the worst option)

I'm living in Edmonton. Welcome to the city. Beware the cold cold winters. The festivals in the city in the summer are great though.
