@Pidge: was your SIM working before putting into the new phone? have you checked if that phone was unlocked.
Also, I would try to reset the network settings of the phone, and see if it help. What phone model was it btw?

Yes, the SIM works fine in my old phone. Phone is definitely unlocked.

Can it see the Koodo network? Can you go into your network settings and go to manual selection and see if Koodo populates ?

I can see the "Koodo" in top left but there's no connection.

I know that it has worked for other Koodo-ers, but I can't get it to connect

Was it a dual SIM phone? I would try the SIM into another SIM slot and see if it makes any difference.

Also, just to confirm, your account was in good standing? there was no problem when you checked your selfserve?

You can also try resetting your APN.

Dual sim. I've tried both slots. Makes no difference.

My account is fine. Self serve works fine for me

What are the network settings for either sim slot?

The sim1 slot is Telus. I don't know why it's Telus and not Koodo

SO when you plug in your sim, it shows Telus?  Does the phone work when that happens?

Talked to Koodo directly. Didn't learn anything new.

Did you try creating new APN settings?

I'm going to return the phone. Spending 5 hours trying to get a signal isn't worth the hassle. Thanks for the help. I don't know if I got a "dud," but it sure isn't up to Moto standards

I tried adding the apn settings. It won't keep the signal, i.e. SIM status -> Signal strength - goes from 0 to an actual value to 0 again

its starting to sound like the phone is defective.
Can you try a non-koodo sim in the phone?
