Hi, I have a koodo account and my current phone is a Samsung 5 and I just bought the samsung 7 online. I got the new phone and would now like to make sure my number is transfered to this new phone. Do I need to ass the new sim car or use the one from my old phone? How can I ensure the network and number are now transfered to the Samsung 7 phone I just bought? Thanks

The s5 and the s7 use different sized SIM cards, so you have 2 options. Some places/stores will cut the SIM card for you which will allow you to use your current SIM, or you can go to a Koodo store/retailer and purchase a new SIM, and then you will have to activate that SIM.  Most Koodo stores will do the activation for you, or you can log into Self Serve and activate it yourself.

Hope this helps

Koodo doesnt allow SIM swaps through self serve anymore unfortunately Daniel. It has to be done at a kiosk, or by contacting koodo

No problem, it's a hassle if your someone that changes phones frequently but they're doing it for security purposes so I guess can't complain. Have a good one

Your account and number are tied to the SIM Card not the phone so if your old SIM card fits in the new phone whivh hopefully is compatible with the frequencies Koodo runs on then put that SIM in the new phone and away you go. You may need to enter Koodo's APN settings if they don't automatically get registered on the phone when setting up with a koodo SIM.

If the SIM doesn't fit you will need to send Koodo a private message to their FB page or Twitter account where they can verify your account and activate the new SIM Card on the account.

Check to see if your old SIM is a triple size card and punch out the perforated part if the card is a different size. Old cards don't have this however so only if it's a newer card.
