I have a prepaid service and booster Canada Wide ad on. Why my booster is deducting 2 min per min of actual air time when I'm calling to a number within Canada? (Markham, ON to Kingston, ON). I thought that rate would only apply to calls from Canada to the USA??

That is correct the 1:2 ratio is for US destinations specifically. I assume that your friend has a Canadian number in Kingston? It should be 1:1.

Is ythe number you are calling a Canada number or a US number?

The number and area code is what matters, regardless where your friend is

The number I called has a 613 area code (Ottawa). The person I called lives near Kingston.

Ok then if you were incorrect charged to twice the minutes then you will need to call Koodo. *611 on your Koodo cell (it's a free call since it's something you cant resolve via self serve)

Hey, sounds odd! Has this happened once or more than once? How long did the call last? The booster airtime is rounded up, meaning if the call lasts 1 min 2 seconds it will deduct two minutes. Keep us posted!

I really don't want to click on the "like"  but those are the rules of the road. And the call time on prepaid starts when you hit the send button, not when the other party picks up. You have to be a professional sprinter to check your voicemail within one minute.

This is the first time. The call lasted only 4 min (it deducted 8 min). I'm on the line right now with customer rep. Hopefully it would be resolved.

Wait times might be long.  Just wanted you to know there is a call back feature too for Koodo to call you back

OK, All solved. It was my mistake (*blushes*). I was looking at the first page on prepaid selfserve and not at the usage history log ...It turns out that they were 4 short calls (less than 1 min) from a couple of days ago that I was not aware of- this account is my son's new phone, which I had to used this morning because my phone was out of juice and the main line was busy. So, those 4 calls added 4 min, PLUS the 4 min of the actual call today make 8 min. Now I know I have to check the detailed log before jumping into conclusions. Thank you everyone for your help!
