Hi, My wife and I bought our phones (Moto G) 3 months ago and we were expecting $50 so-called bonus gifts. Should it take that long to get it? thanks

Did you buy it online? If not where? And were you brand new to Koodo at the time.

We bought them at the "mobile shop" (Loblaws superstore). They came with the $100 Loblaws gift cards but they did say we would get the $50 bonuses after 8 weeks as "new" Koodo customers. They are actually our first ever cellphones.

Thanks

I would call that store to get clarification. The bonuses are generally never doubled up. There is a chance of misinformation.

Out of a technicality, you did get $50 bonus gift on each line...

No, that's incorrect. It's either one or the other. Which Mobile Shop was this?

Loblaws super store in College Square in Nepean. When I asked about this bonus the salesperson said you have to stay with Koodo for 8 weeks. I think he was concerned we would get the phones and cancel right away like so many were doing at the time. Not our case, happy with Koodo so far.

Anyway, not going to have a hissy fit we don't get it. We were just waiting for it to pick out some accessories.

Thanks

The gift cards as far is im aware should of been provided when you activated. Generally they're prepaid visa cards. I would personally raise a stink with the manager there. Based on what I'm reading you were misinformed by the representitive. As bad as this sounds a lot of retailers misinform customers for a quick sale but that's the nature of the beast. Point being, your rfight is with them and I'd go there.

Yes, because a telecom corporate store's reps will know everything there is to know about phones, plans, and are the best example of an honest, upstanding citizen?

We were already offering double what Koodo was offering for the same product and plan... there was no "quick sale" here. I'll also have you know the commission for activations is probably double (or even more) at a Koodo shop than it is at our store, so they're the ones who actually have more to gain from "quick sales".

If anything, the Koodo website is what misled the customer and/or the rep. Besides, it's not the company itself, it's the person standing there.

By the way, this is what brought me to the Mobile Shop at the time.

There is so much incorrect information in that forum...

Trust Jonathan's posts. I've seen many threads along the same lines as this and he clears the air very accurately since he knows first hand.

That doesn't make sense.

The $50 offer on Koodo's website is a prepaid Visa card. At Mobile Shop, we give out PC gift cards IN LIEU OF anything advertised on their website.

Jonathan is bang on, Im one of the guys that goes out to Mobile shops and tells them what the offers are. The offers are not stacked, and Mobile Shop already has a big advantage in that theirs is $100 vs $50.

That redflagdeals page just makes me shake my head. So many people trying to game the systems. And people wonder why carriers lock phones and charge more sometimes.
