That's strange because my mom and dad have the S2X and they use Bluetooth many times. Are you sure you are connected to the Bluetooth device? If it is connected correctly, usually the bluetooth symbol has 2 dots around it.

Yes everything is connected properly:) guess a factory reset is going to be needed

Yeah I didn't have that problem on Stock and I was also able to do BT file transfers. Factory Reset for sure.

I have used my bluetooth headphones with my S2X when I've had my data disabled.

Voice commands through Bluetooth require a network connection/data to function (i.e. Vlingo/Voice Command, Voicetalk and voice-assisted Google Search). If you're not using these services, Bluetooth does not require data to operate.
