Blackberry Q5 On Tab?

I was just shopping for phones this week and had practically decided on upgrading to Blackberry Q5. Is it possible that you have decided to stop selling that THIS WEEK of all times? A bizarre coincidence as I saw it for $150 tab as recently as yesterday.

Thanks for letting me know. I am looking for something with a physical keyboard and the Q5 was the only solid product you offered with that feature.

If you check a Koodo kiosk they may still have some stock left

Hi Bob,

If you wanted a Q5 from Koodo you can always go to a retailer store that sells Koodo products and they may have left over stock, the other option is to try a Koodo kiosk near you and try the same thing since it is not available on the website.

Hope that helps answer your question :)

I will try your suggestion at a nearby kiosk. How great of them to drop a Canadian product.

And they no longer staff their email account apparently, using it to send ads but not receive messages or provide feedback. They owe me the courtesy of an answer after several years loyalty on a three phone family plan.

Hi Bob,
Did you email Koodo though here?

Replying to emails Koodo sends you probably doesn't work as they are for sending only and no one receives them.

The reason they stopped selling the Q5 was due to low sales. Plain and simple. It doesnt matter which manufacturer or model it is. If it doesnt sell, the carrier (any carrier) will drop it.

If it wasn't for our family plan, I might consider a switch: BlackBerry® Q5 at Rogers - Now $0 on Select 2-yr plans‎

That's clearly up to you. I think discontinuing a phone is such a minor issue to leave a carrier for, but I have known people who have left for less

Looking for a hard keyboard as I think the virtual ones are very tough to use. Koodo offers nothing else as fads and costs mean the industry is phasing them out. So will have to see what if any response I get from them. It does make them perhaps the only Canadian carrier to abandon the Canadian BB altogether though.

I saw this post on a Crackberry forum:

"Anyway, you can get a Telus Q5 through Future Shop for $139.99 until September 11th. That will work with Koodo OOTB.
TELUS BlackBerry Q5 Smartphone - Black - Prepaid : BlackBerry Q5 - Future Shop"

Is it true that these are interchangeable or does it need to be unlocked? Thanks for your help.

Some Telus and Koodo phones are interchangable, some are not. iPhones for sure and I had an LG Optimus Black work without unlocking too. Best way to tell is to try though.

Since Koodo and Telus are the same company certain phones don't require you to unlock them to work with one or the other. You can always purchase the phone and try a Koodo sim card in it.

BB10 devices from Telus will work on Koodo and vice versa, I tested it myself with a Z10 and Q10. Go ahead and buy it, you'll be fine. Even my Moto G, Desire 610, S4 mini, and HTC M8 from Koodo all worked on Telus out of the box.

So I got the last one at any nearby kiosk, and set up fairly well as it is pretty straightforward. Now to manage its use without using too much data for my plan. Thanks to all for your advice.
